Holy Special Offer, Batman– Free Comics!…

One can pay the ever-escalating prices of commercial comics and serious graphic novels…  or one can avail oneself of The University of Nebraska Libraries Digital Collection’s  Online Government Comics Collection.

Dozens and dozens of colorful and (more or less) informative comics, all available for free download, here.

As we admire the intricate inking, we might recall that it was on this date in 1931 that President Herbert Hoover, at the White House in Washington, pushed a button that turned on the lights of New York City’s Empire State Building, officially opening the tallest building erected in the world to that date. (After the fall of the World Trade Center in 2001, the ESB became again the tallest building in New York.)
