The signs are all around us…

In 1988, Paul Middlewick spotted an elephant in the map of the London Underground…

Since then, over two dozen other critters have been found and collected at “Animals on the Underground.”

As we search for subtle significance, we might recall that on this date in 1953 (the 500th anniversary of the fall of Constantinople) Qomolongma (Mount Everest) “fell” when New Zealand beekeeper Edmund Hillary and the Sherpa guide Tenzing Norgay became the first people to reach the summit of the world’s tallest mountain.
