Stamps of approval…

The USPS is issuing a set of 16 commemorative stamps honoring Charles and Ray Eames, the husband and wife design team whose amazing body of work– which included architecture, furniture, film, and more– was as innovative as it was playful… and remains the standard against which all other modern design is measured.

As we lick’em and stick’em, we might pay homage to a modern master of a different sort: Alfred Hitchcock, whose Psycho premiered on this date in 1960– the 123rd anniversary of the banishment, by Act of Parliament, of the use of the pillory in Britain.
