As we rethink that Ginsu order, we might wish a cautious Happy Birthday to film-maker Wes Craven; he was born on this date in 1939.  Craven parlayed his Johns Hopkins masters degree in writing and philosophy into a successful career as a motion picture writer and director.  His credits are, of course, legion; but he is surely best known for his Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream series.
