After brief stints as as a tour guide at Rockefeller Center, a writer/proofreader at an advertising agency, and as a fashion consultant at Bond Clothing Stores, she changed her name to Joan Rivers and entered show business… where, of course, she enjoyed a long career as a comedian and actress before becoming the Queen of the Red Carpet.
